Great Partners in Puget Sound stewardship (and good places to network and get information)

There are lots of people and organizations around the Sound who can provide information and resources to shoreline landowners. Some Eld Inlet neighborhoods have their own web pages - so you can connect with what's happening close to home. Here are just a few to get you started!

Griffin Neighborhood Association

Cooper Point Neighborhood Association

Capitol Land Trust

Thurston Conservation District

Squaxin Island Tribe

South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group

People For Puget Sound would also like to thanks Mason County Conservation District, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - Restore America's Estuaries, the Puget Sound Partnership, Thurston County Department of Health, and Thurston County Streamteam for their contributions and support to the recovery of Eld Inlet.

What drains into the Eld and what about sea level rise?

According to the city of Olympia, all water that runs through drains ends up in one of three inlets: Eld Inlet, Budd Inlet, and Henderson Inlet. This web site also links to an interesting report on sea level rise and climate changes in the South Sound.

Thurston County Shoreline Sediment Assessment

Get informed - what you don't know can hurt you (and Puget Sound). This report is from 2005 - read the whole thing, or just check out the parts about Eld Inlet. Remember, being informed matters.
